SEEDS OF DESTINY 30th June 2025 – SOD Daily Devotional
TOPIC: THE BENEFITS OF WAITING ON THE LORD
SCRIPTURE: In that day shall the Lord of hosts be for a crown of glory, and for a diadem of beauty, unto the residue of his people, And for a spirit of judgment to him that sitteth in judgment, and for strength to them that turn the battle to the gate. – Isaiah 28:5-6
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: It is not possible to approach God and not encounter glory.
It has been established that what you expect determines what you experience. Expectation indeed determines experience; it determines manifestation.
So, today we shall be looking at four things that we should expect when we wait on the Lord in prayer and fasting.
1.A crown of glory: It is not possible to approach God and not encounter glory. Moses waited on the Lord and the glory landed on him; there was a glory saturation on his face (Exodus 34:29). Glory is the manifest presence of God; It is the answer to shame and reproach.
2.The diadem of beauty: God beautifies people who spend time with Him (Psalm 50:2). You cannot escape beauty when you wait on God in Zion.
3.The spirit of judgment: When we come before God, we connect with the mantle of Judgment to deal with altars, powers of darkness and the forces of hell. It was that spirit of judgment that Elijah had in 1Kings 17:1 when he boldly declared, “Before God whom I stand…” and released judgment.
4.Strength for the battle: Many people have been victims of spiritual warfare – family battles, ancestral battles, generational battles, etc. When you fall victim to a battle, it is because your strength is not enough (Proverbs 24:10). And you gain strength by waiting on the Lord (Isaiah 40:31).
Beloved, as you wait on the Lord, and seek Him with all your heart (Jeremiah 29:13), these four expectations shall be your portion in Jesus’ Name.
ASSIGNMENT (S):
1.Take out, at least, a day in a week and wait on the Lord in prayer and fasting.
2.Make demands on the benefits of waiting on the Lord.
PRAYER: Lord, I receive the grace to wait on You. And as I wait on You, I connect with Your glory, beauty, the spirit of judgment and supernatural strength, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
